My Current Daytime Skincare Routine

My Current Daytime Skincare Routine

Not too long ago I shared my nighttime skincare routine. As promised in that post, today I am sharing my current daytime skincare routine. Since I posted my nighttime skincare routine I did a little more research on what my skin really needed. I have oily skin and a lot of hyperpigmentation on my forehead so I looked for products to help with that.

It’s a common misconception that oily skin needs products that only mattify and dry out your skin but in fact you should actually moisturize and hydrate. Serums are a great multi beneficial product to use for any skin type. I chose a Vitamin C serum that has so many benefits like antioxidants to fight aging, hyaluronic acid to reduce fine lines and keep skin plump, just to name a few. Check out my current daytime skincare routine below.

Cleanser – Almost every morning I use the Soy Face Cleanser by Fresh. It’s so mild yet gives me such a clean feeling. You don’t need much to cleanse your whole face and the bottle lasts a while. I use this in the shower every day. This has a light and refreshing cucumber scent to it.

Mild Exfoliant Cleanser – Every other day I use the Sugar Strawberry Exfoliating Face Wash by Fresh. I love this stuff because as you’re cleansing the sugars dissolve so there is no way you can over exfoliate and irritate your skin; it’s perfect! It smells of fresh strawberries and leaves my skin feeling so soft.

Toner is next up. I use the Skin & Co Truffle Therapy toner every morning and night after cleansing my skin. I apply this to my face and neck with a cotton pad. It smells like coconuts and vanilla, it’s wonderful.

There are a million and one serums out there so do your research! I chose a multi-use Vitamin C serum that has all kinds of good stuff in it like antioxidants and hyaluronic acid. Click the link to check out all it has to offer and it’s only $10!

I’ve recently started adding an eye cream into my routine because let’s face it, I’m not getting any younger and wrinkles are bound to show up. I’ve been using the Neutrogena Rapid Wrinkle Repair Under Eye Cream. It comes in a smaller tube but you don’t need much for around your eyes. It’s a creamy, easy to blend in white formula that you tap underneath and around your eyes.

When I get breakouts I add in a spot acne treatment. I’ve used the Clean and Clear Acne Spot Treatment for years and it really works to shorten the time of my breakouts. I’ve also use the acne dots but those are best used at night.

Moisturizer – I combine my last steps into 1. The moisturizer I use has a 30 spf in it so I don’t need to apply more sunscreen. You certainly can apply a specific UVA or UVA facial sunscreen but I find that the broad spectrum works great. I’ve been using the Physicians Formula Rose All Day Moisturizer. It’s a thicker formula but I find that one pump covers my whole face and neck well. I let this stuff settle for awhile before I start applying my makeup.
