Hello Lovelies! I’m back with another travel post. This is the second trip of the year for my husband and I. My sister, her husband and my parents just got back from Paradise Island in the Bahamas. I give my parents the credit for the planning and booking and also to Apple Vacations. We try to travel as a family every year and this time around we chose Paradise Island in the Bahamas. The water in the Bahamas is the clearest I have ever seen! I want to give you guys a glimpse at our 5 day mini vacay in ‘Paradise’. Keep reading!
Where to stay / Amenities
We (by we I mean my parents) planned this trip through Apple Vacations. They were a huge help. We gave them a few dates and our price range and they helped us find a beautiful beach getaway.
We chose the Hotel Rui on Paradise Island for a few reasons but the main one being that it is adults only. This hotel is a 4 star and it is located on the North shore of Paradise Island. There are a lot of amenities that come with this hotel. It was recently renovated (2017), there are 5 different restaurants on the resort, 2 of which host a great buffet as well as seated dinners, 2 swimming pools; 1 large pool with lounge seating and the other has a swim up bar with an infinity edge. The beach is amazing, so clear and clean, a gym, spa, salon and there was entertainment daily. The rooms are beautiful and all have balconies. Our room had a beach view, while my parents and sister had a view of the pools.
There are many different hotels and all-inclusive resorts to choose from on the island all ranging in price. The Hotel Rui is located right next to Atlantis, which you can walk to and check out.
Each room had a mini bar with 4 bottles of alcohol in a dispenser, a mini fridge that was restocked 2 times a day and room service for any other drink your heart desires. The rooms were very clean too. The hotel itself was very impressive. The lobby is stunning with white, crystal and blue tones all over. We were greeted with a glass of champagne upon arrival, what a way to start the vacation!

Travel OOTD
What to do / What to wear
We sat poolside a few days and stayed on the beach other days. The guys took an off resort afternoon to play a round of golf which was beautiful. A heads up that if you stay at Atlantis you get discounted rates for golfing in the area.
Back on the resort you can eat all day long at any of the 5 restaurants or order room service if you prefer, which is 24 hour.
We all frequented the swim up bars except for my sister who is pregnant. She still had an amazing time.
The entertainment was great with beach volleyball competitions, dance shows and singing. The staff led yoga in the mornings and other fun games throughout the day.
There are also off resort excursions you could do like parasailing, jet skis or take a boat cruise.
You will be living in a swim suit from sun up to sun down. I brought 4 different ones with me, one of which is older and no longer available (green palm print). Bring all kinds of suits to get the best tan lines. Also, bring swim cover ups or a sarong like the one below. All my evening dresses (non formal) served as beach cover ups so I suggest bringing versatile pieces. Flowy skirts and dresses are great for photos too!
Underestimated pieces to bring are hair accessories. Bows, scrunchies, bandanas or hair clips add a little flair to any suit look. : )
What to eat
We ate ALL. DAY. LONG. We ate at almost every restaurant. We skipped out on the Indian restaurant because Indian food is not my favorite. The restaurants ranged from buffet style to gourmet dining where a dress code is required. The variety was great. Our favorite was the Japanese restaurant.
The menus are small but everything is really good. You choose one app, one entrée and one desert. They bring other small plates for the table to share. You will never go hungry. There was a small coffee shop with sandwiches that were served all day and night, there was a jerk chicken BBQ grill right next to the pool, other small grab and go items in the bar area and then anything you wanted from room service.
