What I’m Packing: Tropical Vacation + Airport Style

White Purse | Sun Hat

Hello Loves! By now you probably know that I’m headed to the Bahamas; Paradise Island to be exact. It’s a family trip with me and my husband, my parents and my sister and her husband. We’re going for 5 days, leaving March 7th. I wanted to give you guys an idea of what I’m taking with me on this trip. I’ll cover carry on essentials, airport style and what I plan to wear day to day. I tried something totally new here and made a video for you guys! There was just so much to cover and this post would have been a mile long. I hope you guys enjoy it and please leave me a comment if you like these types of posts. I’m going to leave our stay details to my recap post, which will be up shortly after we get back. I’ll list out how we booked, where we stayed and much more.

I posted a while ago about my travel essentials but it was time to update that. You can read that post here. That post goes more in depth about how to pack to maximize room in your suitcase.

Carry-On Essentials:

Bring things to pass the time; a book, magazine, iPad for reading, games or movies, computer for work etc or just bring your phone for music. Headphones are the obvious next essential. Some airlines charge you if you need ear buds. Bring a water bottle! It’s so important to stay hydrated while traveling. I always bring a mini bag full of Tylenol, sanitizer wipes and gel, extra contact case, toothbrush etc. I always, always wipe down the arm rests and the tray right when I sit down.

Airport Style:

Keep it comfy and casual. If you’re like me and headed to a warm climate from a cold climate then you need to layer. Wear a comfy tee and either a sweatshirt or cardigan overtop to later tie around your waist if you need to. I almost always wear leggings or joggers but this time I’m headed to paradise, literally, in a jumpsuit! They’re all so comfortable to travel in. I tend to wear my heaviest or bulkiest shoes to save room in my suitcase. If you’re really trying to maximize room in your suitcase then focus your outfits / looks around that one pair of shoes.

What I’m wearing Day to day:

I’ll be living in swimwear all 5 days. I bought 3 new suits and the rest are older. I’ve linked what I can below for you guys too. I didn’t purchase a whole lot of new items for this trip because I love most of my warmer weather pieces so much! Other than swim suits, I have a skirt for the more formal evenings, dresses and rompers. I’ll probably change a couple times throughout the day so it may sound like a lot.

Thank you all so much for reading. Until next time,

Okay that romper is seriously the best!! Great job on the video too! That jumpsuit is amazing!! The short sleeved one I found might have to be my Greece travel attire!! Have so much fun!!

It was so cheap and traveled well! Didn’t stretch out either. Make sure to layer if you’re traveling in the short sleeved one… the planes get so cold!!! It was a blast. Sean and I already want to plan another trip back!
