TNT Series: March + FabFitFun Add On Review

I am back with another TNT series post. Only a few new items this time around but I tacked on a review for my FabFitFun add ons at the bottom of this post.

I’ve tried, what feels like, every teeth whitening product out there. I have sensitive teeth and the traditional teeth whitening strips made my teeth hurt so bad. Charcoal didn’t work well for me and any gel I tried didn’t work as well as I would have liked. I recently tried the White With Style teeth whitening kits. I follow Jasmine Maria on twitter and learned about this kit from her. Don’t let the price scare you. She has a coupon code, THEJASMINEMARIA for 90% off making the kits, with shipping, about $35. That’s about as much as Crest White Strips. It’s easy to boil the trays and takes about 10 minutes. You have to be very careful to not get the gel on your gums. Use less than what you think. The light activates the gel and you hold this in your mouth for 30 minutes. I know it seems like a long time and it is. I felt a little ridiculous walking around my house with this contraption on my mouth. My teeth were a little sensitive afterwards but that quickly went away. Nothing as bad as the white strips. I think this system worked for me to whiten my teeth one shade. I used once a week because that is what was instructed. Do not use more than that. I added a before and after shot below. The first photo was taken on March 2nd and the second photo was taken on April 2nd.IMG_0307

TRESemme Compressed Texture Hairspray Hold Level 1 I picked mine up at Target for $5. I saw a few bloggers talk about these new hairsprays and got really excited to try them out. I’m always looking for the a light weight light hold hairspray. In case you missed it, I talked about the Dove Style Care Flexible Hold Hairspray in last months TNT series. It works really well and you can see that review here. There are 4 different types of the TRESemme micro mist hairspray; texture, which I’m trying out, smooth, extend and boost. This hair spray does great as a very lightweight, light hold spray and does add texture at the roots. I spray this on my roots and then tease and that method works well for adding volume to my hair. No7 Youthful vitamin C serum I picked mine up when it was on sale at Target so I got it for under $22. I heard about this from fellow blogger and friend Kelsie at kelsiekristine.com She told me how great it worked for her after her honeymoon in Hawaii. I’ve had a vitamin C serum on my list since Christmas!
First off, what I think is so cool is that Target allows you to put this item on a ship schedule so you will never be without. I never knew that Target did that. I’ve had discoloration on my face ever since I got back from my vacation in Hawaii. I did some research on how to get rid of it and I knew I needed a vitamin C serum but the trouble is finding which one. I really liked the packaging and the brand looks sophisticated and expensive and sits at a decent price point.
This serum requires activation at home so you can be sure that you get the most powerful vitamin C. You put the white cap on and dispense the powder inside. Then shake until all is dissolved and insert the dropper to use. You use this product for 14 days straight to get the best results. You use 3-5 drops each morning and each night. If you go past the 14 days and still have product left you can continue use until it’s gone. It glides over your skin like a lightweight moisturizer and soaks in pretty quickly. It leaves a little bit of a sticky residue on your hands but washes right off. It smells amazing too.
Below I pictured my before and after. I see smoother skin and below my left eye my sun spots have almost disappeared. I would say this has worked great for me.

FABFITFUN ADD ONS REVIEW
Crown Brush 3 Piece Rose Gold Paddle Brush Contour Set ($19) Originally $30. I got this as an add on in the FabFitfun box. To see that post, click here. Each brush in this set has a job to do. The largest one applies liquid foundation like a dream. The handle is a bit flexible so it moves with the contours of your face. The bristles are so soft and they don’t irritate my skin. I love the rose gold look to these too. They’re all really lightweight and not heavy in your hand at all. The middle size brush I use for cream bronzer and cream blush. The smallest brush I use to blend out my concealer. It’s small enough to get into the corners of my eyes and blends the product out really nicely. For under $20 I feel like this is a steal. these brushes work so nicely and I think they’re fun because it’s something different. I need to use a brush scrubber to clean these. I got mine on amazon. It works well for these types of brushes.

Zoe Ayla Electronic Brush Cleansing Tool ($24) Originally $100 I’ve seen these all over Instagram a while back and really thought about getting one. I’m the first to admit that I’m lazy. I get lazy about washing my brushes even though I do every couple of weeks or so. It just takes me so much time and when I remember to do it, it’s in the mornings when I need to use them. I can’t be waiting around for them to dry out. This cleaning system will clean and dry a brush in under 3 minutes. WHAT! There are 8 rubber ends that your brushes fit into. You find the one that fits the brush you want to wash, place it upside-down into the container and push the button. The remote takes 2 AAA batteries which are not included.
This system does not clean my brushes as well as I would have hoped. I felt like I needed to go back with my scrubber and really get into the bristles to get them clean, especially for the more dense brushes. This washing system does not do that well to deep clean. I was still able to get product out of the brushes even after washing them in this brush cleaning system. I would say that this system is ideal for highlighter brushes, blending eye brushes and anything smaller than .5″ in diameter. The motor is not very powerful so it struggles to spin the larger brushes but it does ok. If you wash your brushes weekly then this will work just fine for you. If you go any longer than that I would suggest getting the scrubber brush from amazon to deep clean the bristles. Overall, do not spend anywhere near $100 for this. I would say that $25 is a good price for how well it works.

Sol de Janeiro Açaí Body Power Cream ($19) Originally $45 I love the oversized lid. It screws off easily and has a protective piece underneath, which touches the product. The body cream is pink, its thick and it smells like heaven. It goes on really smooth too. It feels light on the skin and doesn’t have an oily or waxy feel to it. Some body creams leave what feels like a residue but not this one. The scent lingers but does not last all day. The moisture and hydration, however, lasts! There is so much product in this container that it is going to last me a while. I need to stock up next time on this! This lotion has a shimmer in it but it is not anything obvious. I didn’t realize it had anything in it until after weeks of wearing!

That concludes this month TNT series, I hope you all enjoyed it. Thank you so much for reading. Until next time,

  2. Glad you’re liking the whitening kit and thanks for sharing my discount code. Appreciate it. The Tresemmé hairspray is my favorite. I have the #2 which is packed in my suitcase for vacation. It’s the perfect hold without feeling heavy.
