TNT Series: February

TNT Series: February

I hope you all had a wonderful February. I’ve got quite a few new followers since this series started and I wanted to let you all know what it’s all about. TNT or ‘Try New Things’ is a series that I started to push myself and branch out to try new products and services. I try 2-5 new products for a month and give you my honest reviews about them. If there is more information that you want to know, please feel free to leave me a comment. I post this series at the beginning of each month, for the month prior. I hope you enjoy! As always, please let me know if there are products you want me to review!

My February was great! I gave up meat for a week and you can see that post here. I got a massage as part of my mental health goal for the new year; a massage a month, I read a new book called ‘Hollywood Scandal’ and I will be reviewing it soon, along with others that I read this month, and celebrated Valentine’s Day with my forever valentine. I got a few new products to review this month in addition to a new coffee. Check them all out below!

Bare Minerals BAREskin Pure Brightening Serum Foundation – Retails for $30 at Ulta. I picked this up last month but didn’t get around to trying it until now. There are 20 color options which is crazy! I chose the color Bare Linen 03 which is a pretty good match to my skin tone. There is SPF20 in this foundation which is great going into the warmer months. You need to shake before every use and there is a ball inside to help mix, like a paint can. The top screws on tightly and under the cap is a dropper like dispenser. It comes out more liquid than your traditional foundation. It feels weightless and blends out nicely. I found that a kabuki brush just pushes the foundation around so I ended up using a damp beauty sponge and that worked great! It smoothed out my skin tone and helped hide any discoloration. When it dried it felt like powder on my face. I found that it broke up a little on my nose throughout the day but overall it lasted quite a long time and still looked flawless. 4/5 stars.Bare Minerals BAREskin Foundation

Dove Style Care Flexible Hold Hairspray I picked this up at Target for $5. I wanted a flexible hairspray because the Kenra hairspray I usually use is such a strong hold. First of all the scent is nice, light and refreshing. This stuff works great! I use it almost every morning for a little extra workable volume. It lets my hair move while still being styled. If I mess with it during the day then I need to re-apply but if I don’t touch my hair it lasts quite a while. It does exactly what it says it does; I can’t ask for more than that. IMG_9148

Detox Brunette Dry Shampoo by Drybar I picked mine up from Ulta for $23. I tried the Drybar Detox Dry Shampoo in the mint colored bottle but wanted to try this out as well. I will say that I am going back to the mint bottle. The brunette version is a great idea, I like it BUT it gets messy. I spray on my roots, let dry and run my fingers through my hair. The brown colored mist gets all over my fingers and my forehead. I didn’t realize one day but it got on my shirt. It came out but I was just a little surprised. After every use I need to wash my hands to get the color off. I never really found an issue with the traditional white dry shampoo because I always work it into my hair. The scent is still amazing and I love that! The color came out when I was washing my hair in the shower so be careful if you have a white tub or shower, this stuff will get on it. Be sure to rinse immediately after to avoid staining.

Califia Farms Salted Caramel Cold Brew. I picked this up from the market close to my house and they have it at Hyvee too. I was very excited that I saw this cold brew coffee at the grocery store. My husband and I are both coffee lovers so I wanted to get this mainly for him. Something quick that he can just pour into a mug and go. Turns out we both didn’t like this because it was way too sweet. I like to actually taste coffee and not just pure sugar. It was a real let down for me. I loved that it was made with almond milk but I just couldn’t get past how sweet it was. In order to not waste the bottle, I added coffee to it and used this as a creamer. That worked great for me!

That’s all I have for this month. Have you tried any of these products before? Which is your favorite? Let me know in the comments below.
Be sure to subscribe so you don’t miss next months TNT series. Thank you all so much for reading. Until next time,

I want to try this Dove spray! I’m so sick of my Kenra one getting clogged!! I love dry shampoos with the tint to them, but I know what you mean about it getting all over!!

I really like the Dove spray a lot. It’s going to be a re-purchase for me. I really love the Drybar one but I think the white one works better for me. I don’t have to worry as much about it.
