How To Host The Perfect GALentine’s Day Get-Together

Valentine’s Day is right around the corner and today I have teamed up with fellow blogger and friend Kelsie from kelsiekristine.com. We have come together to walk you through preparing and hosting the perfect GALentine’s day filled with adorable décor, sweet treats, sparkling drinks and a few great gift ideas. Check out how we prepped for our girls day at home.

WHAT YOU NEED
Balloons – Balloons are not only a way to bring in color but they create great backdrops. They scream party and fun times ahead. We used these adorable ‘XO‘ and heart balloons from Party City for a few cute pictures. fullsizeoutput_4278

Flowers – I love flowers. Who doesn’t? These cute red gerber daisies are the perfect addition to a Valentine’s bouquet. Flowers create great centerpieces or even backdrops to photos. They make great props and add a fresh element to the setting.IMG_8222

Desert – We chose to make chocolate covered pretzels for our desert. You always need something sweet when the girls are getting together, am I right! We had other sweet treats like conversation hearts and flavored rock candies.

Recipe
I pack of pretzel rods
1-2 packs of meltable chocolate. We purchased ours at Party City and used the melts. (These worked great and also looked cute set out on the table)
Valentine’s Day themed sprinkles – we went with a mix
Clear pretzel bags and twist ties
pan and parchment paper

  1. Set out pan lined with parchment paper
  2. Melt chocolate in bowl(s) 30 seconds at a time so you don’t burn the chocolate
  3. Drizzle or dip pretzel rods into chocolate
  4. Sprinkle to your hearts desire
  5. Place chocolate covered pretzels on parchment paper and allow chocolate to harden
  6. Once chocolate is hardened you can place them into the clear bags and tie the top. These make great party favors too but they’re even better to make together. fullsizeoutput_4259fullsizeoutput_4274fullsizeoutput_42bb

Banners/Table cloth – Party necessities. Table cloth for not only the obvious reason of keeping things tidy but to add some sparkle and to establish where the fun will be taking place. It creates a gathering point too. This rose gold sequence table cloth is actually a piece of fabric that Kelsie had but it brings the whole space together. Banners are always a good idea. They explain what the party is about! We found this cute XO banner in the dollar aisle at Target! They have the best holiday décor and it’s all $5 or under. IMG_8225

Games – If time permits. I find that once the drinks start flowing and the conversation is happening that games get put on the back burner. We picked up a cute GALENTINE’S DAY word scramble that looked cute on the table setting. IMG_8218Drinks – For a great Galentine’s Day drink recipe head over to Kelsie’s post. Her idea for a pink drink is great for any girls get together. DELICIOUS AHEAD – You have been warned!fullsizeoutput_4242

Gift Bags – Party favors are always a great idea and you can get so creative here. My theme here was color. I wanted to include a few pink, red and white items. There also was a bit of a spa theme here too. A lot of cute gift ideas you can get right at your local dollar store. I’ve linked a few cute ideas below.
Coffee mug | Socks | candle | Spa headband | Sheet Mask | Evian Facial Sprayfullsizeoutput_4255
