Jazz Up Your Basics With Bold Accessories

Happy Tuesday! I’ve been really into basics and neutrals lately and I wanted to jazz it up a bit by adding some bolder accessories. I styled my neutral outfit with accent colors like green, red and yellow. I hope to give you guys some inspiration about how to style your basics with pop colors. Accessories are items that, typically are less expensive to switch out with the seasons and trends. Thank you to Teddith Clout Goggle Sunglasses for sponsoring and collaborating with me on this post.

THE BASE
My basics for this outfit are a pair of lightly distressed, light wash, mid-rise, skinny jeans from Old Navy. For my top I chose my white, lightweight, Calvin Klein button up and tucked it in front. You can wear any shoes you want to with this look. A cute pair of black loafers, tan mules or even a cute pair of sneakers to make the look more athleisure.

ACCESSORY #1 –Teddith Clout Goggle Sunglasses
You can get these sunnies from Amazon. This style comes in 5 colors including black. I don’t own any sunglasses like this and I’m glad to be expanding my collection. These sunglasses are sturdy and durable. The lenses are 100% UV protecting and the company promises 100% satisfaction guaranteed or your money back. Adding these sunnies to any look, as you will see below, adds to each outfit. They have a sexy vibe to them. I like that they’re a bit retro too. I’m very into the bold white rims and they really make a statement on your face. They are a bit wider for me but look good with my hair down. IMG_7869IMG_7867IMG_7859

ACCESSORY #2 – Purse
I love this purse so much. I purchased it from JustFab last year. I chose this purse because it is one of the brighter colored purses I own. You can get creative here with any bright-colored purse you have. If all you have are neutral purses then add some pop with a colored pom-pom or a lightweight scarfIMG_7852

ACCESSORY #3 – Scarf
You can choose any style or color of scarf here. As long as your base is neutral you can go crazy with color. My favorite color is green which is why this scarf is one of my favorites. It was a random find at Walmart for less that $10. If you want to add even more interest try wrapping a pashmina in a unique way or find a scarf that has more than one color on it. IMG_7862

ACCESSORY #4 – Jewelry
I chose this bright red drop beaded necklace. It ties in the back so you make it any length you want to. You could add a bold colored earring here too. I tend to pick one or the other, never both a bold necklace and earrings. That’s a little too much for me. Again, any color here will do. If you have a bold earring to add then I suggest putting the hair up or pulling it back to really let the earrings show. IMG_7880

ACCESSORY #5 and #6 – Bandana and Hat
This look was a little out of my comfort zone but I like how it turned out. If you follow livvyland blog, Olivia wears scarves and bandanas all the time and I love her style. I was inspired by her and tried this look out for myself. What do you guys think? A bright-colored bandana adds so much interest because the shape it creates is so different. The hat gives off a western vibe that I’m loving too. IMG_7850IMG_7851

When you look at all the accessories next to one another, it’s crazy how much they can change the outfit. Styling your hair differently too adds even more of an impact.

That’s all for this post. I hope you guys enjoyed it! This one was fun for me to shoot. It pushed me out of my comfort zone and helped me rediscover some of the accessories I don’t wear very often. I have to say that I think I’m doing pretty well at recycling my closet. Thank you all so much for reading. Until next time,
