Today I’m talking all about layering with stripes. Two of my favorite things; layering and stripes! I have three different layering options that I am sharing with you today. I like to wear this look with over the knee boots, with leggings and tall boots too. I love the idea of wearing dresses in the winter months. Striped dresses add the pattern I need in an outfit like this because I always wear them with solid color tops. Cardigans are the obvious choice when layering over a dress but today I am layering with a sweater, a sweatshirt and a turtleneck swing long sleeve top.

First up is layering with a sweatshirt. I went this route because I am very into the athleisure trend right now. I put on a pair of over the knee boots with this look but you can easily switch those out for a pair of tennis shoes, sneakers for a pair of white converse. I wanted to show this option with OTK boots because it is Winter time and the more coverage the better! This sweatshirt is older and from H&M but I have linked a few others below. When searching for a sweatshirt to layer, I would suggest a mock neck like the one below. No jewelry with this look unless you want to wear a watch, which would look good. Necklaces with this look are not for me. I like the clean and simple vibes. I love the colors and I love how comfortable this outfit is.

I talked about these OTK Goodnight Macaroon boots in a previous post, you can see that here. These boots are amazing to wear not only with dresses but all the time honestly. They’re warm and stay up on your legs even with no jeans or leggings under them. I love this look for a more dressy approach. It’s sexy but still appropriate for the workplace. With cowl neck or turtleneck tops I prefer to have my hair up. It’s more comfortable for me and this way you can add any glitz or drop earrings to really show them off. The gold layered necklace not only brings in visual interest but helps tie in the OTK boots. I think cognac and black is such a sharp color combination. This outfit is easily my favorite.
Lastly is layering with a sweater. You can put on any sweater over this as long as the neckline is higher to cover the dress underneath. This was a challenge for me because most of my sweaters are loose-fitting or have a lower neckline. The one below is older and from Target last year but I linked a great one from Express below. I like the contrast with white in this outfit because it ties in tan or brown shoes really well. I put on lower boots with this look to show that either option will look great. Plus, these taupe boots are the best color. You could add a cute pendant necklace to this look or leave it as is, like I have.
